You must be enrolled in supplemental life to be eligible for spouse life coverage. Your spouse life election cannot exceed 50% of your supplemental life amount.
Short Term Disability benefits replace 100% of your income in the event you become unable to work due to an injury, illness, or other medical scenario such as a scheduled surgery or birth of a child. There is a 5-day unpaid waiting period before paid benefits begin.
Long Term Disability benefits begin after you are unable to work, due to an illness or injury, for 90 calendar days and provides a benefit of 60% of base pay to a maximum paid benefit of $15,000 per month.

Retirement & Savings Benefits
Georgetown University Defined Contribution Plan: This is a retirement plan where contributions are made by the employee and the employer. There is a phased waiting period; new employees will receive the employer core contribution (5%) after one year of service and an additional matching contribution (5%) after two years of service.
Optional. The TransElite Universal Life insurance program with Long Term and Chronic Care benefits that recognizes consumers’ desire for flexible coverage and allows them to use their benefits when most needed. With one policy, you could protect against the two biggest risks that people face during their working years and at retirement: premature death and the need for long-term care services.
Georgetown University offers tuition benefits to employees and their children through the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). These benefits can be used for both studies at Georgetown University and other accredited higher educational institutions.
Paid Time Off: Full-time staff and AAPs accrue 21 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) during first year; 22 days plus one additional day for each year of service thereafter, up to a maximum of 26 days. See HR Policy #602.
Sick Leave: New administrative employees receive 5 days of sick leave upon hire; then 5 additional days on each anniversary of employment, up to a maximum accrual of 30 days. See HR Policy #605.
Paid Parental Leave: Eligible administrative employees receive up to eight weeks of paid Parental Leave for parent/child bonding and care. This leave is available to employees who have a full year of service at the time of birth or placement. See HR Policy #614.
Holidays: Georgetown faculty and staff are provided with 17 paid holidays.
Child Care:Hoya Kids Learning Center, an on-site facility for children 18 months old to 5 years old, scholarships available to some income levels, there is a waiting list, separate facility and policy at GU Law Center.
Faculty and Staff Assistance Program:FSAP assists faculty and staff and their families with professional and personal concerns, provided at no cost to employee, provides short term and crisis counseling, coordinates wellness programs, confidential.
Learning and Development: offers training opportunities, job aids, resources, and consultation to support employee development and continuous learning.
Parking/Transportation: Limited parking is available on-campus and at satellite locations through the Office of Transportation Management. Free shuttle service is available to Wisconsin Avenue, Dupont Circle, Arlington, and Law Center locations, in addition to free motorist assistance and pre-tax Metrocheck.
