Business Travel Accident Insurance
Georgetown understands that you may be required to travel for University business purposes from time-to-time. It is for this reason that the University provides you with business travel accident (BTA) insurance at no cost to you.
Georgetown University provides BTA insurance benefits to all faculty, AAP and staff traveling more than 100 miles from their worksite, for up to 14 days, on University business. The maximum benefit payable is $750,000, subject to a $3.75 million maximum aggregate amount payable for any single accident.
BTA benefits are in addition to your Basic Life and Basic AD&D coverage, as well as any supplemental life and voluntary AD&D coverage you may purchase. BTA is insured by The Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company.
Cost
Georgetown pays the entire cost of this coverage. There is no cost to you and enrollment is automatic.
