Why is CIGNA International introducing the CIGNA Dental Network?

CIGNA International Expatriate Benefits (CIEB) is now able to leverage the discounts available through the CIGNA Dental Network of more than 100,000 providers. Available in most states, our members will lower their out-of-pocket costs for covered services and receive quality care – when they use network providers.

Will my employees receive new ID cards?

Your employees will not need a new ID card to access dental care. They will use their CIGNA International ID card to identify themselves as CIGNA dental members.

Are members required to select a Primary Care Dentist?

They do not need to select a primary care dentist. They are still able to select any dentist in the U.S.

Are members required to use Network providers?

There is no requirement for members to use participating general dentists or specialists in the CIGNA Dental Network in the U.S. (nor is there a penalty if they use non-network dental providers).

However, when they use a CIGNA Dental provider, there are several advantages:

• Lower member out-of-pocket costs for covered services
• No balance billing – network dentists cannot charge members beyond the negotiated, discounted fee for covered services
• Participating dentists will submit claims on behalf of the member
• Network dentists are easy to locate via the secure Member Website: http://www.cigna.com/expatriates
